English Abstract
The evaluation of a transition process in our society includes many technical, ecological, social and institutional aspects. It describes, what is done in the present to reach a specific goal in the future, decades from now. There are lots of visions on these transition processes. However, a practical hand-out for an evaluation is missing. In this project an experiment has been carried out to concretise elements of such an evaluation. A series of instruments, i.e. models and analysing tools, have been tested for their usefulness. For these experiments the case of Novel Protein Foods (NPF) was selected. Some of the results are shown as illustrations of the potential of the instruments.

De evaluatie van de voortgang van een transitie is de evaluatie van een proces met vele technische, economische, ecologische, sociale en institutionele aspecten. Het beschrijft, hoe we in het heden bezig zijn om op lange termijn (vele decennia) ergens uit te komen. Er bestaan wel vele visies op de processen, er is geen praktisch draaiboek voor de uitvoering van zo'n evaluatie. Voor de concretisering ervan is een experiment uitgevoerd, waarbij diverse analyse-instrumenten en modellen zijn getoetst op hun bruikbaarheid. Twee hoofdrichting kunnen worden onderscheiden: een actorgerichte benadering en een technisch-economische doorrekening. Voor het experiment is het voorbeeld van Novel Protein Foods (NPF's) gebruikt. De verkregen resultaten moeten worden gezien als illustraties van de mogelijkheden, die het instrumentarium biedt.
