English Abstract This report is the result of the second sub-project of
the project "Setting integrated environmental quality objectives", called
exotic metals". These trace metals are antimony, barium, beryllium cobalt,
molybdenum, selenium, thallium, tin and vanadium. This report is an
integration of three activities, published in separate reports: 1.
derivation of Maximum Permissible Concentrations (MPC's) and Negligible
Concentrations (NC's) for water, sediment, and soil based on
ecotoxicological data. 2. derivation of partition coefficients in order to
apply the equilibrium partitioning method. 3. gathering information about
background levels in soil, ground water, and surface water. In this report
the MPC's and NC's for the different compartments are coordinated to one
another using the equilibrium partitioning method. Also the coordinated
MPC's and NC's are compared with the related background
concentrations.
