English Abstract
In a previous study preliminary Maximum Permissible Concentrations (MPC) in air are derived for 22 volatile compounds. The present study is performed as a supplement to the derivation of preliminary MPC values, which was based on informtion from reviews only. The data obtained from reviews are re-evaluated by studying the original literature and supplemented with recent data from on-line search. The final data set is evaluated for each compound to determine whether or not a MPC in air can be derived. For 3-chloro-1-propene, 1,1-dichloroethene, 1,2-dichloropropane, 1,3-dichloropropene, and 1,1,1-trichloroethane a MPC in air is derived, while for 2-chloro-1,3-butadiene the preliminary MPC is revised. For the remaining 16 compounds essential human toxicological data are lacking. The derived MPC's are: 7.4 mug/m3 for 3-chloro-1-propene, 200 mug/m3 for 1,1-dichloroethene 12.4 mug/m3 for 1,2-dichloropropane, 40 mug/m3 for 1,3-dichloropropene and 4,820 mug/m3 for 1,1,1-trichloroethane. For 2-chloro-1,3-butadiene a preliminary MPC was set at 1 mug.m3
