English Abstract The quality of the upper meter of groundwater was
investigated at half of the sites included in the Trend Monitoring Network
Acidification (TMV) from autumn 2006 to the beginning of 2007. The TMV is
documenting the effects of acidification on groundwater at 150 sampling
sites located on sandy soil in nature areas in the Netherlands.
Groundwater samples could be obtained at 70 of the 75 locations; at the
remaining five sites, the groundwater layer was either too deep for sampling
or the location was no longer suitable for sampling. The standard nitrate
value of 50 mg per litre was exceeded at 16 % of the locations investigated.
The concentrations of cadmium, chromium and zinc exceeded the desired target
levels at 51 %, 47 % and 70 % of the sampled sites, respectively. The
intervention values for cadmium and/or zinc were also surpassed at a few
sites.
The TMV has monitored the quality of the upper meter of groundwater in the
Netherlands since its establishment in 1989. This network also collects
data on soil texture and environmental parameters, such as vegetation, tree
height and layer of the litter. The quality of the groundwater at the other
75 locations covered by the monitoring network was monitored in 2007/2008
but these data are not yet available for documentation. A trend analysis of
the measurement data will be provided later.

Van het najaar van 2006 tot begin 2007 is op de helft
van de locaties van het TrendMeetnet Verzuring (TMV) de kwaliteit van het
bovenste grondwater onderzocht. Het TMV brengt op 150 locaties in
Nederlandse natuurgebieden (bos/heide) op zandgrond de effecten van
verzuring op het grondwater in kaart.
Op 70 van de 75 locaties kon het grondwater bemonsterd worden. Op de
overige locaties zat het grondwater te diep of was de locatie niet meer
geschikt. Op 16 % van de onderzochte locaties is de norm voor nitraat (50
mg/l) overschreden. De concentratie van cadmium, chroom en zink lag op
respectievelijk 51, 47 en 70 % van de onderzochte locaties boven de
streefwaarde. Op een enkele locatie is ook de interventiewaarde voor
cadmium en/of zink overschreden.
Sinds de oprichting van het meetnet in 1989 wordt de kwaliteit van het
bovenste grondwater onderzocht. Daarnaast wordt ook informatie over de
bodemtextuur en omgevingsparameters zoals begroeiing, boomhoogte en dikte
van de strooisellaag verzameld. In 2007/2008 is de grondwaterkwaliteit op
de overige 75 locaties van het meetnet in kaart gebracht, maar de data
daarvan zijn nog niet beschikbaar. Een trendanalyse van de meetgegevens is
later voorzien.
