English Abstract The information system, platform on integral energy and
emission surveys (PIE), described here has been developed by the National
Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM), and the Netherlands
Research Centre of the Netherlands(ECN), two centres in the Netherlands
whose activities show a large overlap in the area of energy and emission
surveys. The PIE was set up on the one hand to share data common to both
centres and, on the other, as a means to respond to policy questions more
rapidly, and with more flexibility and insight. Along with the
documentation on the history and the purpose of the PIE, an outline of the
conceptual model has also been included. This is followed by a discussion
of the model's implementation in Excel and the mathematical rules connected
with its use. The final chapter discusses plans for PIE application in the
near future.

Dit rapport beschrijft het informatiesysteem genaamd
Platform voor Integrale Energie- en emissieverkenningen (PIE). Omdat het
RIVM en ECN een grote overlap hebben op het terrein van energie en emissies
werken zij gezamenlijk aan de ontwikkeling en het gebruik van het Platform
voor Integrale Energie- en emissieverkenningen. PIE dient bij te dragen aan
enerzijds het vastleggen van gezamenlijke informatie en anderzijds aan
flexibeler, sneller en inzichtelijker beantwoorden van beleidsvragen. Dit
rapport geeft allereerst een beschrijving van de historie en het doel van
PIE. Vervolgens wordt het conceptuele model uitgelegd. De toepassing van
het conceptuele model in Excel en de daarmee samenhangende rekenregels
worden toegelicht en als laatste wordt afgesloten met een beschrijving van
de te nemen vervolgstappen.
