English Abstract
The authors report on a literature search on survival analysis and competing risks. The subjects investigated are: (from survival analysis) survival functions, hazard functions and life tables, (total and partial) likelihood functions of the survival times, heterogenity and risk functions to explain differences in survival times, (from competing risks) concurrent risks described by the two- dimensional stochastic variable survival time and cause of death, described by several latent stochastic survival times, and the actuarial model. some of the subjects are illustrated with Dutch data.
