Food Biomarkers Alliance

The Food Biomarkers Alliance (FOODBALL) initiative was aimed at identifying and quantifying dietary biomarkers in order to improve the capabilities of nutritional assessment and research.

FOODBALL  was a JPI  funded, multicentric project,  which aimed to develop strategies for food biomarker discovery and validation to identify biomarkers of intake for a range of foods.

The project consisted of 22 partners from 11 countries and was coordinated by Wageningen Research University. It started in December 2014 and was completed in December 2017.

It was supported by the EU European Union (European Union) Joint Programming Initiative A Healthy Diet for a Healthy Life.

RIVM contributed to Work Package 6, (WP6) the so-called Policy package.
