Your bowel cancer screening results

You have recently taken part in the national bowel cancer screening programme. Within two weeks you will receive the results of the test.

  • If your results are favourable. The screening indicates that there is no need to go to hospital for a further examination.
  • If blood has been found in your stool, it does not necessarily mean that you have bowel cancer. It may be due to bowel cancer or polyps, but there are a number of other possible causes. This is not yet known. To find out if you have bowel cancer or polyps, you need to go to hospital for further examination. It is up to you to decide whether you want to have this examination.

You will find the exemplary letters under 'Download'.
