Evaluation and development of hydrogeological and geochemical investigation methods for aquifers of low permeability

Evaluatie en ontwikkeling van hydrogeologische en geochemische verkenningstechnieken voor watervoerende pakketten met een lage permeabiliteit

Synopsis

The main purposes of this study were defined as to evaluate and to test techniques to obtain geohydrological data of the aquifers and aquitards of the Upper Cretaceous and Lower Tertiary formations. Of these formations, which form the first geohydrological barrier against transport of radionuclides through the geosphere, a limited set of data is available. Furthermore there is little experience in the Netherlands with investigation methods to obtain parameters suitable for modelling purposes.
