Synopsis

The Dutch Minister for Housing, Spatial Planning and Environment reports to Parliament every year about the quality of drinking water in the Netherlands. The report on drinking water quality in the Netherlands in 1995 is based on the information from the Water Supply Companies to the Regional Environment Inspectorates Non-compliance to the drinking water standards is incidental. Non-compliance of bacteriological parameters has an impact on public health, but has not led to hazardous situations. Most cases of non-compliance deal with ethical and aesthetic standards. Non-compliance to drinking water standards has been solved with adequate measures.
