The Collaborating Centre supports the World Health Organization (WHO) with capacity building in the field of microbial food and water safety. Based on Quantitative Microbial Risk Assessment, including e.g. hazard identification and risk characterisation, knowledge is generated and tools are developed to support WHO activities.
RIVM's risk assessments are based on the AMOUR model package
The Dutch Food Composition Database (NEVO) contains data on the composition of foods. NEVO is owned by the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sports, and is maintained at Netherlands Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM). An advisory board with scientific experts, data providers and users of NEVO data advises RIVM.
Rubber granulate is used on synthetic turf fields to give them the properties of a natural grass field. It is made from rubber tyres. RIVM was instructed by the Dutch Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport Edith Schippers (VWS) to conduct research into rubber granulate.
