GHSA PHI MEETING

From Ambition to Action: a meeting for Public Health Institutes of the GHSA AMR Action Package. 31 May 2016, the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment of the Netherlands (RIVM) organised a meeting for Public Health Institutes (PHIs) of countries active in the Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Action Package of the Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA). 

The meeting focused on the PHIs from the sixteen countries that were part of the AMR Action Package, as leading or contributing country, during the GHSA Ministerial Meeting in Seoul in September 2015. During this meeting, the Ministries of Health of the GHSA AMR Action Package countries agreed that it was important for their PHIs to align their (international) AMR activities as well as to collaborate as much as possible in planning and implementing further actions to combat AMR globally.

Leading and contributing countries

The following countries were part of the AMR Action Package during the GHSA Ministerial Meeting in Seoul in September 2015:

Leading countries

Canada, Germany, India, Japan, Netherlands, Sweden, United Kingdom. 

Contributing countries

Australia, Indonesia, Italy, Norway, Portugal, South Africa, Switzerland, Thailand, and United States.
