Expecting mothers can get tested to determine the chance that their pregnancy will result in a baby with Down's syndrome. The test is done in a combined test: a blood test between the ninth and fourteenth week and an ultrasound scan between the eleventh to fourteenth week of pregnancy.
The Dutch Food Composition Database (NEVO) contains data on the composition of foods eaten frequently by a large part of the Dutch population. These foods contribute significantly to the intake of energy and nutrients. Foods of importance for specific groups of the Dutch population are also included.
Collection of periodic data on food consumption and nutrition status of the Dutch population and of specific groups within the population has been carried out since 1987 under the authority of the Netherlands Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport.
