Introduction, purpose and examples of ranking after FAO and others.
Presentation of regional data collection and introduction in FAO ranking method.
Defining criteria and selecting criteria. Food-parasites commodities . Discuss regions for ranking in Europe. Geographical, based on FBP distribution or other? Define groups for ranking (8 groups of 5= 40 people). Weighting of criteria (FAO method).
Scoring of global European FBP list in groups according to FAO and according to Europe list. Present results of global European ranking, difficulties encountered.
Scoring of FBP in European regions; divide in groups for regional ranking (at least 2 groups ranking one region).
Presentation of results. Discussion, conclusions & recommendation ranking & Surveillance systems.
Participating MCs are required to prepare national data of FBP listed in the FAO 24 list for ranking. Ask regions to identify a list of 24 after the full FAO list in their region. Prepare a list of surveillance system of FBP in their region in humans/animals.
The workshop is organised by COST Action Euro-FBP, the European Network for Foodborne Parasites. Trainers involved are Martijn Bouwknegt and Brecht Devleesschhauwer (mathematics ranking), Titia Kortbeek (medical parasitologist), Joke van der Giessen (veterinary parasitologist), Heather Graham (student Utrecht University) and Henny ter Hoeven (secretary).
