Pigs are not commonly used in studies on pharmacokinetics and toxicology of xenobiotics. However, pigs were added to the database because it is generally stated that the physiology of pigs are closely related to humans. The physiological parameters for the mouth, oesophagus, stomach, small and large intestine, liver and gallbladder were researched in literature and added to the interspecies database.
