English Abstract
RIVM operates several Lidar systems for atmospheric research. Lidar systems use laser radiation which can cause damage to eye or skin. This report deals with safety considerations of all RIVM Lidar systems. Safety measures and calculation of safety distances are based on the European laser radiation norm IEC 825. Outsiders as well as operators are protected in the best practically-possible way for both mobile scanning Lidar systems. For the fixed Lidar systems additional research to apply a radar system as protection is desired.
