English Abstract
The International Classification of Impairments, Disabilities and Handicaps (ICIDH)) is being revised by WHO and its Collaborating Centres for the ICIDH. The Dutch WHO Collaborating Centre for the ICIDH in 1989. WHO issued a first proposal for revised ICIDH in July 1997, the Beta-1 draft, under the title International Classification of Impairments, Activities and Participation. Comments on this draft and results of field trials were used for the drafting of a second proposal, the Beta-2 draft that was issued in 1999. The new title of the Beta-2 draft, International Classification of Functioning and Disability, reflects the restructuring of the classification and the rewording of its classes. As much as possible the classification is formulated in neutral terms. Problems in the Dutch translation of the Beta-2 draft was issued in December 1999 and has been sent out on request to about 3000 persons and organisations. The present report summarises the activities of the Dutch Centre between August 1999 and September 2000, specifying the comments on the Beta-2 draft and the results of field trials.

De Internationale classificatie van stoornissen, beperkingen en handicaps zal worden herzien door de Wereldgezondheidsorganisatie (WHO) en haar Collaborating Centres voor de ICIDH. Het Nederlandse WHO Collaborating Centre is in 1989 opgericht. De WHO publiceerde een eerste voorstel voor een herziene ICIDH in juli 1997, het Beta-1 voorstel, onder de titel Internationale classificatie voor stoornissen, activiteiten en participatie. Het commentaar op dit voorstel en de resultaten van veldstudies werden gebruikt voor het opstellen van het Beta-2 voorstel, dat in 1999 werd uitgegeven. De nieuwe titel van dit voorstel: Internationale classificatie van het menselijk funktioneren, vormt een weergave van het opnieuw structureren van de classificatie en het opnieuw bewoorden van haar klassen. De classificatie is zoveel mogleijk in neurtrale termen geformuleerd. De problemen in het funktioneren worden vastgelegd met behulp van typeringen. De Nederlandse vertaling van het beta-2 voorstel is uitgegeven in december 1999 en is op aanvraag aan ongeveer 3000 personen en organisaties verstuurd. Dit geschrift doet verslag van de activiteiten van het Nederlandse Centre tussen augustus 1999 en september 2000, gericht op het leveren van commentaar op het Beta-2 voorstel en resultaten uit veldstudies.
