English Abstract During a period of 2 years (June 1992 - June 1994)
investigations were done on the occurrence of ochratoxin A in two types of
animal feeds. The samples were drawn from all over the country and
originated from lots to be used for poultry (53 samples) and pigs (129
samples). In approximately 11% of the samples of feeds for poultry and only
2% for pigs was ochratoxin A quantifiable at mass fractions above 1,5
mug/kg. The results are encouraging, particularly if compared with
published data on occurrence of ochratoxin A in feeds in other countries.
Besides, the levels found are below the tolerance levels for ochratoxin A in
feeds found in countries that have legislation on this
topic.

Gedurende een periode van 2 jaren (juni 1992 - juni
1994) werd er onderzoek verricht naar het voorkomen van ochratoxine A in
diverse typen veevoeders. De monsters waren over het gehele land genomen en
afkomstig van partijen bestemd voor slachtkuikens (53 monsters) en
mestvarkens (129 monsters). In 11% van de onderzochte monsters pluimveevoer
en in slechts 2% van de monsters varkensvoer bleek ochratoxine A bepaalbaar
in gehalten boven 1,5 mug/kg. De resultaten zijn bemoedigend, zeker als men
ze vergelijkt met waarden uit de literatuur van recent onderzoek verricht in
andere landen binnen de Europese Unie. Bovendien liggen de gevonden waarden
ver beneden de toleranties die gehanteerd worden in landen die regelgeving
op dit terrein kennen.
