Rapport in het kort
The development of new urban areas offers opportunities to reduce CO2-emissions in the longer term. There are many options for saving energy in houses and buildings, inclusing insulation, district heating, small-scale combined heat and power, several forms of solar energy and so on. In the field of traffic, measures like construction of public transport, mixing of functions and parking policies could have some effect in reducing CO2-emissions. This report gives an overview of options that can be applied within building locations and their (potential) effect on CO2-emissions, based on existing literature in the Netherlands and some calculations.
