English Abstract
This report supplies information to support the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature Management and Fisheries in preparing the second National Environmental Policy Plan (NEPP2). At first the report gives information on contribution of the agricultural sector to the burdening of the environment for the various environmental issues (acidification, eutrophication, etc.). The contribution of the various agricultural sectors will be mentioned seperately where possible. Next the geographical distribution of the functions ressorting under this ministery are given. These functions are nature, forestry, recreation, fisheries and agriculture. All these functions depend in one way or another on good environmental conditions. For this reason the third part of this study focuses on the environmental quality in the rural areas of the Netherlands. Environmental quality is described in terms of imissions and concentrations in soil, water and air.

Rapport in het kort
Het rapport is gemaakt ter ondersteuning van het ministerie van Landbouw, Natuurbeheer en Visserij bij de totstandkoming van het tweede nationale milieubeleidsplan (NMP2). Het rapport geeft daartoe drie soorten van informatie. Ten eerste wordt zichtbaar gemaakt in welke mate de landbouw bijdraagt aan de belasting van het milieu. Dit wordt per milieuthema (verzuring, vermesting etc.) behandeld. Voor zover mogelijk worden de bijdragen van de afzonderlijke landbouwbedrijfstakken aangegeven. Ten tweede geeft rapport de ruimtelijk verspreiding van gebruiksfuncties weer, die onder de verantwoordelijkheid vallen van het Ministerie van Landbouw, Natuurbeheer en Visserij. Dit zijn de functies natuur, bos, recreatie, visserij en landbouw. Wat betreft de landbouw worden voorzover mogelijk ook de verschillende bedrijfstakken ruimtelijk in beeld gebracht. Al deze functies zijn in meerdere of mindere mate afhankelijk van goede milieucondities. Ten derde geeft het rapport het ruimtelijk beeld weer van de milieukwaliteit - in termen van imissies en concentraties in bodem, water en lucht in het landelijk gebied weer, voor zover van belang voor de functies waarvoor het Ministerie van LNV primair verantwoordelijk is.
