English Abstract The feasibility of the adoption of field methods in the
determination of a number of inorganic components in environmental samples
has been studied. A short survey of potential methods and procedures is
given. Currently, ion selective electrodes (ISE) have the best potentiality
for application in the field. Further development of field effect
transistors (ISFET), and the growing availability of portable photometric
detectors opens perspectives for the near future.

De beschikbaarheid en de toepassingscriteria van
veldmeetmethoden voor de bepaling van een aantal anorganische componenten in
milieumonsters zijn bestudeerd. Er wordt een kort overzicht gegeven van
potentiele methoden en procedures. Voor veldtoepassingen in waterige
monsters zijn momenteel ion-selectieve elektroden (ISE) breed inzetbaar en
het meest geschikt. De verdere ontwikkeling van ion-selectieve
field-effect-transistoren (ISFET), en het beschikbaar komen van draagbare
fotometrische detectoren biedt perspectieven voor de nabije
toekomst.
