English Abstract Emission measurements at the municipal solid waste
incinerator (MSWI) GEVUDO in Dordrecht show an average dioxin concentration
in the stack gas of ca. 13 ng TEQ/Nm3 (dry, 11% oxygen). This
concentration is considered to be low for this type of installation, when
compared with other types of MSWIs in the Netherlands. The yearly emission
of dioxins from this installation is estimated at 11 g TEQ. The
contribution of the GEVUDO to the maximum deposition is estimated at 25 ng
TEQ/(m2. year) at 700 m North-East of the installation. Background
depositions are estimated at 15 ng TEQ/(m2.year). Direct danger for public
health is not expected and determination of dioxin levels in milk, grass or
soil in this area is not recommended.
