English Abstract The NH3 deposition in 1989 on a 5 x 5 km scale in the
Netherlands is estimated with an atmospheric transport model. The model
input is a detailed NH3 emission map. This emission map is made using
emission factors derived by a special commission with representatives of the
Ministry of Agriculture and Fishery and the Ministry of Housing, Physical
Planning and the Environment. The deposition estimates have been evaluated
using concentration measurements in air and in precipitation in areas with
high emission density and in heathland and forests.
