English Abstract The quality of domestic waste depends on a variety of
factors as standards and habits of living, the presence of gardens, the
collection bins or sachs, the recycling rate, etc. Taking these factors
into account specific districts have been selected in Arnhem (one-family
houses, apartment buildings), Amsterdam (old and, new district) and
Overasselt (rural area). These districts are regarded as representative for
specific communities. The waste is sampled three times a year to take in
account seasonal fluctuations. This report presents data of sorted
components of domestic waste in average weight percentages for the year
1990.
