English Abstract On request of the Inspectorate of the Environment,
district Zeeland, five samples have been investigated. Two samples
contained red deposits, these deposits turned out to consist of the red
coloured alga Haematococcus pluvialis. A third water sample, in which white
colourless crystals occurred, contained only relatively low concentrations
of calcium, sodium, sulphate and some nitrate. A leave sample of Brussels
sprout plants was analysed for lead, cadmium, arsenic, copper and zinc. The
concentrations were at the level found for not polluted sprouts. In
conclusion it can be stated that pollution of the local environment caused
by air transport of the contaminants mentioned is
unlikely.
