English Abstract In this report the AMOEBE approach has been evaluated
for it's potential use on terrestrial ecosystems. A number of important
items have been highlighted, such as: The major objective of the Dutch
environmental policy (sustainable development) ; multiple forms of landuse
and the definition of a frame of reference ; the use of both abiotic and
biotic parameters as tools to characterize environmental quality ; choce of
appropriate spacial scale ; the ability to relate environmental policies to
changes in parameters. General conclusion is that the AMOEBE apprach forms
a useful method to quantify environmental quality, provided some adaptions
