English Abstract The Subsidy Regulation for High-cost Sewerage Works has
provided the effectuation of a great number of sewerage projects since the
official start in 1980. All in total 284 local projects have been
subsidized during the period 1980 until 1984. The governmental institute
"Rijksinstituut voor Drinkwatervoorziening" (RID) was involved during the
preparation and execution phase of each project. All technical and
financial aspects as well as hydraulic calculations of the complete local
sewerage systems have been checked. Results were laid down in reports,
prepared for each project and in different stages. In these reports advice
was given to the Ministry of Public Health and Environmental Pollution.
During this exercise data on 271 projects were worked out in such form that
various aspects could be presented in the final report. The intensive
involvement of the RID made it possible to provide a solid argumentation and
formalisation of a communal sewerage policy.
