  • An abnormality
An abnormality was detected on the X-rays. This is the case for about 25 out of every 1,000 women who are screened. You will then be referred to a hospital. You can discuss with your GP which hospital you should attend for further examination. After further tests, about 7 of these 25 women are found to have breast cancer.
