Today, April 8th, RIVM welcomes education professionals for the annual GLOBE day. Brand new ambassador of GLOBE in The Netherlands and Director-General of RIVM, André van der Zande will perform the opening ceremony.
On this annual GLOBE day, students and education professionals are given a unique opportunity to explore our institute. They will investigate the soil quality of RIVM premises in Bilthoven. Moreover, secondary school students will present their own soil surveys. RIVM, KNMI and WUR will provide geography, biology, physics, chemistry, ANW and NLT education professionals with all necessary guidance to fit into their GLOBE lessons.
Twentyseven–thousand schools in 112 countries participate in the global network of GLOBE, an educational program founded by Al Gore. The Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) program is a worldwide hands-on, primary and secondary school-based science and education program.
