The Global Learning and Observation to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) program in the Netherlands (GLOBE Netherlands) is organising the annual GLOBE day on 21 March . On this day scientists from KNMI, RIVM National Institute for Public Health and the Environment and WUR will show high school students how they can contribute to scientific research. Students will take measurements in their school environment and in this way learn to conduct research themselves and contribute to a better understanding of nature and the environment.

Launch European campaign GrowApp

On this day an European app will be launched, called the GrowApp. This app enables students  to create animations from nature as nature evolves through the seasons. During the campaign students from all over Europe will study  the life cycle events of six tree species and how these are influenced by seasonal and interannual variations in climate. They will also compare these results between European countries.

Invitees

We invite science and geography teachers and Technical Teaching Assistants with an interest in the following themes: learn to conduct research  (PWS, PO), internationalisation, sustainability, Bilingual education.  The day is suitable for both experienced GLOBE teachers and those who want to orientate themselves on the programme. Organisations wishing to contribute to expanding GLOBE are also welcome to attend.
