On 17 and 18 October 2018, RIVM visited the German Environment Agency Umwelt Bundesamt (UBA). The RIVM delegation consisting of director Environment & Safety, Els van Schie, centre managers and experts met with German colleagues to enhance the collaboration between the two institutes.

They discussed topics such as 'Agriculture and nitrogen issues', 'Circular economy and substances' and 'Environment and health' and agreed upon several follow up actions. These include amongst others integrated approaches to nitrogen management, indicators for recycled agriculture, RIVM AERIUS model, the list of substances of very high concern, indoor air quality and citizen science.
