In the past week, from 21 to 27 April, the reported number of people who tested positive for COVID-19 increased slightly to 55,097 newly reported infections (+2%)*.

In the past week, from 14 to 20 April, the reported number of people who tested positive for COVID-19 increased by 5.3%, rising to 53,981 newly reported infections.

There seems to be widespread support for introducing a coronavirus passport, also referred to as ‘corona passport’.

People who follow the advice to stay 1.5 apart from others are less likely to contract the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2.

Since March 2020, RIVM has been working with the water boards in the Netherlands to monitor sewage for traces of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. The measurements are an important supplement to other COVID-19 studies.

The total mortality rate in the Netherlands was significantly elevated in the week of 30 April to 6 May 2020. However, excess mortality was much lower than in previous weeks.
