Lyme research in children and adults
We still do not know why some people suffer from long-term symptoms after being treated for Lyme disease, while others do not. RIVM is investigating how often people with Lyme disease have persisting symptoms after being treated, and what might cause those symptoms. Researchers hope the results will allow them to propose treatments that could prevent or cure long-term symptoms after Lyme disease.

NLe is a collaborative partnership between Amsterdam UMC, RadboudUMC, patients, and RIVM. The joint activities of these partners include the research described above.
