Ingrid Kalkhoven
What motivates me is my passion for the public interest. My strength lies in combining different interests while maintaining the relationship. I love the intellectual challenge of complex issues in an environment of politics and public administration. I take an analytical, structured approach with a keen eye for detail. Keeping things calm in the eye of the storm. Focused on achieving results.

After completing a degree in public administration and public law, Ingrid started working at the national postal service as a management trainee. Later in her career, she took an extended course on human resource management, and obtained a master’s degree in history and American studies from Utrecht University. After working in various roles at NS Dutch Railways, where Ingrid was Head of Strategy and Development for the passenger transport division, and later on became deputy director of the Light Rail Business Unit, she decided to switch careers, moving to the national government.

At the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, Ingrid was the National Project Manager for Medical Assistance in Accidents and Disasters, and also worked as the national project manager for various projects related to safety, security and infrastructure. In 2008, she switched to the province of Overijssel, where she managed several projects and programmes as for example the redevelopment of Twente Airport. Before transitioning to RIVMNational Institute for Public Health and the Environment , Ingrid was the deputy Head of the Project and Programme Management unit for the province.

Ingrid heads the RIVM Office of the Executive Board, managing the team of professionals that supports the boards. Her current role is a perfect match for her ambitions.
