RIVM has left the NEN/CEN/ISO committees for tobacco and e-cigarettes. The primary reason for this is the considerable influence the tobacco industry exerts within these committees, whereby safeguarding public health receives insufficient emphasis. Read more

Vega study: people who eat meat do not carry more ESBL bacteria
ESBL-producing bacteria occur regularly in animals and on meat. This led to the assumption that people who eat meat frequently would carry ESBL bacteria more often. The Vega study shows that this assumption is wrong. Read more
Protection of Defence personnel against health risks of chromium-6 was inadequate
From 1984-2006, employees of the Dutch Ministry of Defence were exposed to chromium-6 during maintenance work. The RIVM investigation revealed that the Health & Safety policy of the Ministry was inadequate. Read more
