Samenvatting
De Staat van zoönosen, 2010 geeft een overzicht van de trends in het voorkomen van verschillende zoönosen bij mens en dier. De cijfers zijn gebaseerd op de monitoringsdata van zoönosen en zoönotische agentia die jaarlijks gemeld worden aan de Europese Commissie in het kader van Directive 2003/99/EC. Deze worden aangevuld met data afkomstig van surveillance, monitoring- en bestrijdingsprogramma's en relevante onderzoeksprojecten. Verder worden een aantal opmerkelijke voorvallen betreffende zoönosen bij mens of dier uitgelicht, zoals humane gevallen van vlekziekte en uitbraken van rundertuberculose bij melkvee en kalveren. Het rapport wordt afgesloten met een themahoofdstuk waarin besproken wordt hoe gerapporteerde gevallen van voedselinfecties of -vergiftigingen worden aangepakt door de GGD en de nVWA.
Abstract
The report State of zoonotic diseases, 2010 gives an overview of the occurrence of zoonotic disease in humans and animals in the Netherlands. The figures are based on data that are reported annually to the European Commission, in accordance with Directive 2003/99/EC on the monitoring of zoonoses and zoonotic agents. They are supplemented with data from Dutch surveillance, monitoring and control programmes and relevant research. Furthermore, a number of notable events of zoonoses in humans and/or animals are discussed in more detail, such as human cases of erysipelas and outbreaks of bovine tuberculosis in dairy cattle and calves. The report concludes with a chapter on foodborne infections and intoxications and will discuss how reported cases are managed by the Municipal Health Services (GGD) and the Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (nVWA).
