Since 2003, the Dutch National Food Consumption Surveys (DNFCS) has been carried out by RIVM and TNO using a new method for food and nutrition surveys. A new method for data collection was needed because of changing policy needs, socio-demographic developments, trends in food habits as well as developments in research methods. Since July 2007, the DNFCS and related studies are carried out by the RIVM.
