Rob Riesmeijer, MScPH is head of  the Department of Vaccine Supply and Prevention Programmes at the Dutch National Institute for Public Health and the Environment, RIVM.

The vaccination and prevention programmes allow us to prevent disease or serious consequences of diseases. I feel privileged to contribute to these essential programmes!

Since October 2016, Rob heads the Department of Vaccine Supply and Prevention Programmes. The department coordinates the implementation of the National Immunisation Programme, neonatal screening, and screening of pregnant women in order to help control disease.

Rob studied biomedical sciences at the University of Groningen and holds a Master of Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Rob started his career at RIVM in 2009 when swine flu and Q-fever were of serious concern. In 2011 Rob joined the Strategy & Policy Unit of the Center for Disease Control where he was coordinator from 2013-2016.
