The first people born in 1961 will be receiving an invitation for a COVID-19 vaccination this Thursday. This group involves people who will be turning 60 this year. Starting today, they can already schedule an appointment online via www.coronavaccinatie-afspraak.nl for vaccination by the Municipal Public Health Services (GGDs). They will receive the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine. This involves nearly 250,000 people.

The invitations for people born in 1961 will arrive between Thursday 29 April and Saturday 1 May. It is possible that some people will receive two invitations. For example, they could be invited based on the year when they were born, but may already have been vaccinated or invited via a different route. In that case, they can disregard this invitation. By now, the Municipal Public Health Services (GGDs) have opened more than 100 vaccination sites where people can go to get vaccinated.

Schedule for the vaccination campaign

The Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS) determines the order in which groups are vaccinated. The advisory reports of the Health Council of the Netherlands are used as guidance. The start date for vaccination of the various target groups depends on vaccine availability. For the latest order of vaccination, please visit Government.nl
