Coordinating Research and Evidence for Medical Devices
Improved methods for clinical investigation and evaluation of high-risk medical devices
CORE-MD started in April 2021 and will run for three years. The project will review methodologies for the clinical evaluation of high-risk medical devices and recommend new designs to set an appropriate balance between innovation, safety, and clinical effectiveness.
The CORE–MD consortium includes 22 partners involved in the development, evaluation, approval and certification, clinical use, and monitoring of medical devices.
RIVM colleague involved: Robert Geersma.
CORE-MD has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 965246.
