On 1 February 2020, R. (Rob) de Haan (1960) was appointed Director Information Services and Chief Information Officer at the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM). In this capacity, he joined the RIVM’s Executive Board on 1 January 2022.

Rob de Haan studied Physiotherapy and Administrative Informatics. He started his career in 1985, serving in a variety of ICT roles at the Sociale Verzekeringsbank (SVB). From 1998 onwards, he held various directorial positions in information services, including for Banque Artesia Nederland, I-Broker Benelux B.V and Van Lanschot Bankiers. He started working as Deputy Director at the Medicines Evaluation Board (CBG) in 2003, before continuing his career in central government, serving as Director of Operations and Chief Information Officer at the Health and Youth Care Inspectorate (IGJ) from 2013 onwards. He transferred to the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) on 1 February 2020, being appointed Director Information Services and Chief Information Officer.
