A delegation from the Ethiopian Ministry of Water, Irrigation and Electricity visited RIVMNational Institute for Public Health and the Environment on May 30th 2017. Mutual interests were discussed and also future collaborative activities.

The delegation was led by State Minister for Water Irrigation and Electricity of Ethiopia, Mrs.  Frenesh Mekuria. Besides the State Minister, the Head of Oromia, Water Mines and Energy Bureau (Mr. Assefa Kumsa), the deputy Mayor of Addis Ababa, (Mr. Tewolde Gebre Tsadkan), the general managers of water utilities Addis Ababa (Mr. Aweke H/Mariam), Desse (Mr. Muktar Ahmed) and Dire Dawa (Mr. Mohamed Mussie) and the regional project manager of the project 'Source to Tap and Back' (Mr. Daniel Truneh) were present.

The delegation was welcomed by Dr. Arjen van der Giessen and was given a presentation by Prof. Ana Maria de Roda Husman on RIVMNational Institute for Public Health and the Environment 's work on Zoonoses and Environmental Microbiology and expertise on drinking water. In addition, Mr. Harold van den Berg presented the primary results of the project 'Source to Tap and Back' , a project regarding the improvement of drinking water in the two largest cities in Ethiopia.
