Coronavirus

RIVM has advised the Dutch government that additional measures are needed throughout the Netherlands to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The measures taken in Noord-Brabant now apply to the whole of the Netherlands.

RIVM is seeing an increasing number of novel coronavirus patients for whom the source of infection is not clear. Analysis of patient viruses also shows that they often differ from one another. This is an indication that the virus is spreading in the Netherlands.  RIVM advises that these measures be taken now to prevent a wider spread.

The measures include limiting social contacts and call on people with a cold, a cough of a fever to stay at home. If the spread slows down, fewer people will be ill at the same time. That way patient care can be better guaranteed in the coming period.
