Starting on 18 December, children aged 5-11 years who have underlying health conditions will receive their invitation letter for COVID-19 vaccination. This involves children with certain diseases such as severe asthma, chronic lung conditions or congenital heart defects. These children are more likely to end up in hospital if they are infected with COVID-19. 

Invitations sent by paediatricians, vaccination by local GGD

The invitations are sent by the treating paediatricians. From 20 December on, vaccination will start in all GGD regions. Children receive an adjusted dose of the Pfizer vaccine.
