In 2024, one in six adults indicated that they had occasionally had tooth or molar pain. This is one of the outcomes on oral health in the Netherlands that Statistics Netherlands (CBS) published today. Furthermore, adults who brush twice a day or more often have tooth or molar pain and bleeding gums less often than people who brush less. They also experience better oral health.

These figures are from the Health Survey 2024. Read the entire news item on the CBS website.

Oral Health Monitor

RIVM uses the Oral Health Monitor to track trends and developments in oral health. This monitor is still in development. A new report and an update on the website VZinfo.nl will follow in November. Among other things, this update will contain new information from the CBS Health Survey. One of the issues RIVM explores in the monitor is why some people have not visited a dentist/oral hygienist in more than a year (or never). RIVM also shows the extent to which people have had tooth or molar pain or bleeding gums.
