Starting Tuesday 6 April, the first people in the next age group will receive an invitation from RIVM for a COVID-19 vaccination. These people were born in the years from 1947 through 1951. The invitations for this target group will be sent over the course of the next two-and-a-half weeks. Within the age group, they will be invited in order from old to young.
In total, this involves more than 950,000 people. They will receive the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine. People born in 1947 and 1948 who have not yet received an invitation can already schedule an appointment online via www.coronavaccinatie-afspraak.nl. People born in 1949, 1950 or 1951 can make an appointment as soon as they receive the invitation. By now, the Municipal Public Health Services (GGDs) have opened more than 80 locations where people can go to get vaccinated.
Schedule for the vaccination campaign
The Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS) determines the order in which groups are vaccinated. The advisory reports of the Health Council of the Netherlands are used as guidance. The start date for vaccination of the various target groups depends on vaccine availability. For the latest order of vaccination, please visit Government.nl.
