UV ozone layer and climate

Exposure to UV ultraviolet radiation from the sun is one of the causes of skin cancer and cataract. The ozone in the atmosphere absorbs the UV radiation. Emissions of CFC chlorofluorocarbons have reduced the amount of ozone in the stratosphere over the past 25 years. As a result, UV radiation has increased.
