A blood glucose meter is a medical device. Some patients with diabetes mellitus use a blood glucose meter to measure the amount of glucose (blood sugar) in the blood. RIVM carried out research into blood glucose meters in 2016. During this research RIVM assessed manufacturers’ product files and evaluated blood glucose meter measurements from clinical chemistry laboratories.
