Benchmarking is the process in which organizations compare their performance, processes or results with those of other organizations, often within the same sector or at an international level. As part of benchmarking, we provide data for the Netherlands, so that it can be compared with similar data for other countries. This makes international comparisons possible and, therefore, helps to understand how the Netherlands is performing compared to other countries and to identify potential improvement areas. Health-enhancing physical activity in Europe (HEPA)
This factsheet on health-enhancing physical activity in the Netherlands is one of the 28 country factsheets of the European Union Member States of the WHO European Region. It gives a summary of specific focus areas in terms of monitoring and surveillance based on a number of key indicators. It also gives summaries on policies and programmes in the area of physical activity and inactivity, including physical activity levels for adults, adolescents, and children.

Global Observatory for Physical Activity (GoPA)
The Global Observatory for Physical Activity ( GoPA!) has published an overview of physical activity and public health around the world. Using the data of more than 130 countries, their publication presents country cards with detailed information on physical activity research, policy and surveillance worldwide.
