RIVM makes the study results and collected materials from the PIENTER study available for scientific research in the field of infectious diseases, lifestyle and living environment.
Researchers interested in the use of PIENTER data or materials can contact the PIENTER team at pienteronderzoek@rivm.nl.
Privacy
The collected bodily materials are the property of RIVM. The PIENTER study has no commercial purpose. The data and the bodily material will never be sold. Research with bodily material is carried out under the responsibility of researchers working at RIVM. Collaboration with other organisations or laboratories may also be possible. The RIVM researchers will always be involved in the research.
To protect the privacy of participants, the name and other directly identifiable information of participants is linked to a code. All bodily materials and data will only contain this code. Researchers and laboratories inside or outside RIVM working with the data or bodily materials can only see the code. They do not have access to names or address information and therefore do not know who the research material belongs to. Before researchers and laboratories from within and outside RIVM may use data or bodily material for research, they must first submit an application. If they are not employed by RIVM, they must always sign an agreement. This ensures that they too protect the privacy of participants. In reports and publications about the study, no one can find out the identity of the participants.
